Le origini di questo mondo bizzarro hanno radici nel cabaret di Weimar, una forma di spettacolo sviluppatasi verso la fine degli anni '20 in Germania, caratterizzato da uno stile grottesco, edonista e decadente, dove circolavano idee liberali e nuove forme di espressione e di avanguardia.
Cabaret Bizarre nasce nel 2006 a Basilea in Svizzera e prodigiosamente conquista il cuore di tanti paesi europei, realizzando decine di spettacoli in cinque diversi paesi. Per la prima volta appare in Italia nel 2016, e ha scelto Napoli e la ripropone quest'anno per la terza volta come sua città di elezione. Da sempre crocevia delle più diverse espressioni culturali, Napoli è il luogo ideale per ospitare un evento del genere perchè è città dove la dilatazione dei confini è immagine della sua radiosa libertà di spirito. Dove convivono senza distinguersi la rovina antica e lo spirito moderno, il lazzo sardonico e il ghigno amaro, la luce del sole e l'ombra della luna.
Ad accogliere il Cabaret Bizarre saranno gli spazi suggestivi ed oscuri de Il Museo Del Sottosuolo.
Anche quest'anno Cabaret Bizarre verrà inserito come spettacolo all'interno del circuito Comicon Off, evento collaterale di una delle più importanti fiere del fumetto Italiane.
La locandina che per ogni show di Cabaret Bizarre viene affidata ad un illustratore e raffigura una carta sempre diversa dei tarocchi, quest'anno è stata realizzata dalla talentuosa Margo Tram che ha dato la sua originale interpretazione dell'iconografia dell'arcano maggiore L'Imperatrice.
