You can already guess what's coming: we have to cancel our New Year's Eve Cabaret Bizarre. On the one hand, a celebration of love, respect, inclusion and unity, as we had envisioned it, is not feasible under the given circumstances. On the other hand, the safety and health of the people at our events have always had and still have top priority.

The canton of Basel-Stadt has independently from the federal government decided that no consumption while standing is possible and that masks are compulsory at parties even with 2G. Basel is thus taking a special path that is stricter than that recommended by the Federal Government. So Under these circumstances, a Cabaret Bizarre is unthinkable. In addition, based on the trend, we cannot expect relief from the measures to take place until New Year's Eve, as the Basel special measures apply until the end of January 2022. Therefore, we have to make a decision early and want to give you the opportunity to make new plans for New Year's Eve. We will use the time to take another deep breath and look ahead with renewed energy. Who knows: with a bit of luck, we'll see each other again sometime.

Hopefully 2022 will bring us unity and love instead of hate and division.
